Chase Street Elementary School occasionally has various musicians perform in the cafeteria during the students' lunch periods. Today we were treated to an acoustic performance by a few members of the band Dead Confederate! They have recently returned home from a run in Europe with fellow Athenian rockers The Whigs. It was great! I tried to tell the kids at my table that they better pay attention because these were real-life rock stars on their stage, but I was met with blank stares. Oh, well. Maybe one day they'll appreciate it but, until then, I sure do!
