Since I've been fighting with my hair growing out my bangs, there has been only ONE thing that has kept my hair under control - my favorite headband. The thing about headbands is that they either give you a headache, or constantly slip off your head! I discovered my new favorite headwear at a small boutique in Athens (handmade by a local), and since then I've gone back to purchase another (see left). So far, this is the only thing I've found that doesn't fall off my noggin, or start to hurt after a while.
But guess what, y'all - I'll never buy one again! I have discovered that not only can I make them myself for much cheaper, but I think I can make a better quality headband, too!
So with a fabric donation from my friend Gen to get me started, I began to crank them out. It took a few to get my technique down, but once I did SHAZAM!
As you can see (on the right), I used a thicker, slip-free band, and *ah-hem* did a much better job choosing thread color and sewing the headband together if I do say so myself! (It may be a bit difficult to judge that from the picture - you're just going to have to trust me on this one, folks).
